Check your Sidereal Rising and Moon signs below (and if you don't know them, but do know your birth date, time AND place, email me at kochisjohnathanj@gmail.com and I can get you your chart OR you can figure it out yourself here).
If you want to learn more about what this "transitional reading" I speak about is, please see my guide to divination with the I Ching here.
I have a free version of James Legge’s I Ching translation here. Also: For a free translation of the I Ching that I rely on (and I recommend if you want to see the lines that make up these readings), check this copy by the late, great, Bradford Hatcher.

How To Use The Yearly Horoscopes
You can read just for your Sidereal Rising and Moon signs, however, what I do (and what I recommend) is reading for each house in your chart. For example, as a Libra Rising, I would look at that horoscope for my 1st house topics for the year, Scorpio for my 2nd house topics, Sagittarius for my 3rd, etc.

The Horoscope For Everyone
Reading
Hexagram 17 Unchanging (17 uc)
1) The Reality
The Three
Someone or something is headed *somewhere*, and you will be too. If it all builds up to a finish of some sort, it's not a mistake. But don't put all of your eggs into a dissolving basket.
The Practical Oracle Adds ...
Know you're heading into the right direction, even if it begins with hesitation. Stay humble, and know that a dead end is *still* the right direction.
Will And Won’t And Win
Expect disappointment about a partnership.
Don’t expect to hit the mark with what is flowing.
The reward is the deja vu of damage.
2) How You Should Shape It
The Prescription
If you keep following it may end with you going in a separate direction. It doesn't mean the journey was wrong, though, so remember that. And just for fun, listen to Eric B & Rakim's "Follow The Leader" as you apply restraint in a mature way.
More And Less
Do more talking to others, and less with lucidity.
Think forever, instead of thinking "change of pace."

Aries Rising/Aries Moon
Reading:
Hexagram 4.3.6 > 46
Transitional Reading:
Hexagrams 4.3 > 18.6 > 46
-
1) The Reality
The Three
Go with the green light, but keep the green out of your eyes. Don't commit when there's some idealized image in your mind, and don't let anyone commit to making things difficult for you. But remember that you're not serving "them," you're serving something larger than you *and* them.
The Practical Oracle Adds ...
There's work to do, despite any bad taste in your mouth about it. Things will hit their peak, so respond to that with humility.
Will And Won’t And Win
Expect the fruitlessness of a sabotage.
Don’t expect an open-mind about any gifts.
The reward is foresight about immaturity.
2) How You Should Shape It
The Prescription
Don't let limited time pleasure evolve into long-term problems. Everything has its moment, so avoid dragging things out to get every drop you can.
But tend to an in progress partnership.
More And Less
Do more completion, and less fruitlessness.
Think "mistake" rather than "betrayal."
—
The Experience
One experience with this reading comes from 7/20/19 when I asked for clarification on whether received 60.2 meant I *should* go to the hospital that day. Despite the health issues I was facing, I didn't go.
As a sentence, this could be "Ignorance's Advancing." 4.3 is usually a message that you're not seeing all of this in a rational way somehow. And 4.6's big message is to avoid being harmed, and doing harm, while 18.6 tells you there's a greater purpose here that you may not be seeing if you're occupied by what's in front of you. In my case, my anxieties were fueling my vision, which can be seen by 4.3. And 4.6 in this situation could have been about not doing anything out of line as I cleared up the illusions in the situation. There were bigger things at play, which 18.6 spoke of, and ultimately, I never had to go to the hospital about all of this.
But honestly, paired with 60.2, I'd still be awfully tempted to tell someone else to go through with that trip, to be on the safe side. Fortunately for me, my ignorance didn't cause me physical harm, or harm to bank account from making an emergency room visit.

Taurus Rising/Taurus Moon
Reading:
Hexagram 60 Unchanging (60 uc)
-
1) The Reality
The Three
Everything has its limits. Figure out yours, as well as the limits of *this*. If they're too restrictive they might not last, but don't let regrets last either.
The Practical Oracle Adds ...
This is all on the increase, and it begins with power. Move in the direction you know is right, and keep it selfless, instead of selfish.
Will And Won’t And Win
Expect the distance of censorship.
Don’t expect to feel you’re already familiar with a change of crowd.
The reward is the power of progress.
2) How You Should Shape It
The Prescription
Measure twice, cut once, measure twice, build to last. Decide what is a go, and what's a gone. Throw in a "does this spark joy" if you'd like.
And persist with a loss.
More And Less
Do more deciding and less increasing.
Think about an offer, instead of thinking detachment.
—
The Experience
One example of this reading in real life comes from 1/13/21 when I asked what I needed to know about an employer I was hoping to work for, for the rest of January. What happened was that I received no response to my application. 60 unchanging is all about restrictions, and boundaries, but not movement, or forward progress. When you see it in a reading, expect whatever the question is about to have its limits, that you'll have to respect, whether you like it or not.

Gemini Rising/Gemini Moon
Reading:
Hexagram 20.1.4.6 > 17
Transitional Reading:
Hexagrams 20.1 > 42.4 > 25.6 > 17
-
1) The Reality
The Three
Follow the moves, but do it like an adult instead of a child, for best results (and the least regrets). Let someone, or something else be the leader, and remember that you need everyone on the same page for a change. And if you're spending all of that time watching *their* lives, make sure you're not *that* hands-off when the time for action arises.
The Practical Oracle Adds ...
Putting in the work begins at home this year. Beware of confusion turning into catastrophe (if you can - but you probably won't be able to, so it is what it is).
Will And Won’t And Win
Expect the possession of what’s fruitless.
Don’t expect a persuasive offer.
The reward is an acceptance of clinging.
2) How You Should Shape It
The Prescription
Remember that you have a helping hand. It's a group effort for this one, not something solitary.
But you may have to experience some anger over work.
More And Less
Do more "peace," and less responding.
Think damage, instead of "short-lived."
—
The Experience
One instance of this reading comes from 6/7/20, when I asked if I'd be working with the family member of a close friend. As a sentence, this reading would be "Observing's Following." A very passive sentence, I'd say.
20.1 tells you to look at this in a mature way, rather than a child (which is kind of the mentality of "Observing's Following," right?). The passivity continues with 20.4, where your role is to follow another's lead, while the transitional line of 42.4 is about a change that requires consensus to come to fruition. 20.6 speaks of observing the lives of others, while 25.6 tells you there's a danger to being passive and hands off here.
With the Change Patterns of Yang 21 and Yin 48, it's a question of deliberating something, and the advice is to cooperate with others to access a resource that is available. That advice paired with the passivity of the reading as a whole, and 25.6's warning about how you might not be doing what you need to do about sums it up. Nothing happened. I didn't pursue any opportunities too strongly, and the opportunities didn't pursue me.

Cancer Rising/Cancer Moon
Reading:
Hexagram 49.1 > 31
-
1) The Reality
The Three
You can *see* the change, but the change hasn't seen you yet. The time for big things isn't now, and that's normal. Put to use the resources you do have, and make the most out of a limited situation.
The Practical Oracle Adds ...
Something is dangerous, so delay a bit here. When things reach their peak, don't expect it to come with some crystal clear understanding (maybe expect a little of the opposite).
Will And Won’t And Win
Expect a response to hit the mark.
Don’t expect the build-up of a bad idea.
The reward is preparation involving unfinished business.
2) How You Should Shape It
The Prescription
Keep your attraction in mind, but keep your hands inside the ride for safety purposes.
Your job is to feel regret over a "not yet."
More And Less
Do more misunderstanding, and less relaxing.
Think open-minded, rather than "getting closer."
—
The Experience
One time I had this reading was when I asked what my job was for 4/29/21. I was hoping for an email about a job opportunity when I woke up, but there was none. And then when I got home from work, and checked that inbox again, there was none. I had ideas for Saint Expedite petitions, but I didn't do any that night either. 49.1 was correct. While I was all about change, change wasn't all about me. There was no movement, which is expected when you get this line.

Leo Rising/Leo Moon
Reading:
Hexagram 54.2.4 > 24
Transitional Reading:
Hexagrams 54.2 > 51.4 > 24
-
1) The Reality
The Three
You're coming back to something, and it may not be completely clear just yet. Slow down, delay, and stay sincere, because something hasn't reached its climax. And if something shocks you, don't expect a whole lot to change after that initial reaction.
The Practical Oracle Adds ...
If there's a conception, expect a disagreement. Expect it to get topsy turvy, and there's some jealousy to keep your eye on as well.
Will And Won’t And Win
Expect some divine intervention involving receptivity.
Don’t expect “evil punishment.”
The reward is the exhaustion of stillness.
2) How You Should Shape It
The Prescription
You may be stuck in two places at once, and if you don't have all of the power, make persistence your power.
Try to initiate detachment.
More And Less
Do more conversations, and less good ideas.
Think conflict and stop thinking punishment.
—
The Experience
The first time I received this reading was on 3/5/19. As a sentence, this one is "Subordination's Return." At the time my jaw was still healing from the removal of wisdom teeth, which on its own speaks to the compromising position you're often in with hexagram 54. 54.2 may have been describing how I was "kind of" seeing the fruitlessness of militantly sticking to what you think you're supposed to be, as I began to slip in my daily meditation practice.
54.4 is about a delay for the right time. This could have been about my healing process, but also about the first Saint Expedite petition of my life that I was planning for the next day. It was for my career, and it ended up being successful, which is a story I'll probably tell someday. The transitional line of 51.4 usually always describes a shock, or a shake up, that's followed by a whole lot of nothing, which kind of was how my day went after I decided I'd make the petition, but didn't do it that day.

Virgo Rising/Virgo Moon
Reading:
Hexagram 2.5.6 > 20
Transitional Reading:
Hexagrams 2.5 > 8.6 > 20
-
1) The Reality
The Three
Keep your eyes and the lines of communication open. But if it starts to look like a storm is coming, don't just sit there. If a couple possibilities are competing, and you don't feel up for leading, choose who you will follow with care.
The Practical Oracle Adds ...
You're innocent here, and might stumble into a surprise. Expect happiness, and also expect something to increase.
Will And Won’t And Win
Expect to follow what hit the mark.
Don’t expect an imbalance of authenticity.
The reward is a conversation involving meditation.
2) How You Should Shape It
The Prescription
Follow the rules, even if you'd rather use all of your force.
Just relax and watch.
More And Less
Do more distraction, and less investigating.
Think "observation" rather than hesitation.
—
The Experience
An example of this reading comes from 11/30/19, when I asked what would happen if I paid for the personal Squarespace plan my Two Dreams site. I did choose that one. As a sentence, this would be "Receptivity's Observation," which seems to be a good descriptor of someone assessing the options.
2.5 is about being open to something changing, but that if it gets to be a little overwhelming as you wait, you should get out of the situation. That could have been a message to just make a decision. 2.6 is usually always about a couple of options battling it out, while 8.6 warns you about not having a clear focus, or direction to follow. All together as a reading, it's telling you to not just sit there, pondering, and waiting, in perpetuity. The Yin Pattern here is Hexagram 34, which basically says don't do anything out of line if you're in a situation that isn't the perfect fit. I'd say what would be out of line in this situation would have been purchasing a more expensive plan that I didn't really need to get done what I needed to get done. And that's what happened: I chose only what I needed and didn't let the decision making process drag out too long.

Libra Rising/Libra Moon
Reading:
Hexagram 2.3 > 15
-
1) The Reality
The Three
Keep it all balanced. There's not a bunch of credit and congratulation awaiting you, but that doesn't mean anything is wrong. Serve your purpose, and it'll all be set right in the end.
The Practical Oracle Adds ...
If something is being conceived, make sure there's an agreement. Expect joy, but also expect something to be revived.
Will And Won’t And Win
Expect temptation involving what’s perfect.
Don’t expect rejection that’s evil.
The reward is an agreement involving some divine intervention.
2) How You Should Shape It
The Prescription
List all of the "petty" ways you could handle this, and all of the "greater" ways you could. Try to avoid that first list, obviously.
It all may involve you making progress with a change of scenery.
More And Less
Do more meeting, and less "out-of-balance."
Think accumulation, rather than investigation.
—
The Experience
One example of this reading comes from an hour on 1/19/21. My girlfriend went to a thrift store to sell clothes, but her ZipCar locked on her, with her jacket on the inside, in the January cold. I did quick readings for her about whether she should continue with more errands or just come home once she got back in the car, and the readings said come home. So, she did. With 2.3, you're serving someone, or something, other than yourself, and you shouldn't expect some reward for it, but it's still not a mistake. I served her by doing divination. You don't have to move the world, but serving others in some way is what to expect when you get this line.
--
Scorpio Rising/Scorpio Moon
Reading:
Hexagram 60.2 > 3
-
1) The Reality
The Three
If you're confused, don't let it stop you from taking an opportunity presented to you. Apply some restraint to your action, but also your emotions, if you're looking into walking out the door. If there's other parties involved, make them your equal instead of some antagonist.
The Practical Oracle Adds ...
Be on the watch for any deception coming in, or going out, but stay energized. Even handling something maturely doesn't make you immune to tragedy.
Will And Won’t And Win
Expect a reduction of conflict.
Don’t expect forgetfulness involving innocence.
The reward is disappointment with progress.
2) How You Should Shape It
The Prescription
Think about whether the opportunity is worth putting your shoes on for. But also think about what it would cost you stay inside.
Use wisdom as it relates to reuniting.
More And Less
Do more of not just yet, and less of restraining yourself.
Think danger, not disagreement.
—
The Experience
One example of this reading comes from 11/20/20. I asked what I wasn't understanding about what would happen if I switched to a note taking service called Nimbus. Sometimes the message can be mixed when you get this line. On one hand, you can read it as there being misfortune if you don't take an opportunity presented to you, but at the same time, I've seen it also say to let yourself be led, rather than being dead set on opening that door.
In this case, I didn't switch to it. But the question was "what will happen" and if I did do it, I would indeed be going out the door to something new. So, it really all depends on the question you're asking here. But the constant is that there will be an opportunity to head out the door, and if there's a sign that you should turn the handle, then trust it.

Sagittarius Rising/Sagittarius Moon
Reading:
Hexagram 7.4 > 40
-
1) The Reality
The Three
Don't go all in, but do decide if you're going in that direction. Live to live another, or live to fight another day. You can decide, after the day.
The Practical Oracle Adds ...
With the commitment comes the anxiety. Try to repair things here, but understand that it may be on its way out.
Will And Won’t And Win
Expect something to stop as a result of divine intervention.
Don’t expect a paradigm shift that relaxes.
The reward is cooperating with resources.
2) How You Should Shape It
The Prescription
If you're in the position to give a little, then do it.
Your job may include a tragedy involving forgiveness.
More And Less
Do more relaxing, and less being arrogant.
Think "assumption," rather than moving forward.
—
The Experience
An example of this reading comes from 6/27/20, when I asked about publishing my first Two Dreams pieces on July 11th. If I could put 7.4 into one sentence it'd be "Live to fight another day." And I did pull back, before ultimately publishing everything on August 15th. If this is your reading, fall back. It's likely in your best interest.

Capricorn Rising/Capricorn Moon
Reading:
Hexagram 3.1.5.6 > 23
Transitional Reading:
Hexagrams 3.1 > 8.5 > 2.6 > 23
-
1) The Reality
The Three
As things get removed, decide whether you're coming or going, and don't get too full of yourself. If you can collect some rewards, don't go overboard, and let others come and go on their own schedule (instead of one you want to draw up for them). Don't lie to yourself about something you know is falling off as you're wrestling with two options.
The Practical Oracle Adds ...
Stay creative as you stay away from *something*. And if you act selfishly, expect a misunderstanding.
Will And Won’t And Win
Expect an acceptance of delusion.
Don’t expect any anxiety involving guilt.
The reward is being open-minded about moving on.
2) How You Should Shape It
The Prescription
Stay the course. What course? Well, where does this house in your chart stand as you start the year? Then you'll know.
But your job this year may be feeling arrogance about a repair job.
More And Less
Do more creativity and less completion.
Think magic, instead of thinking about returning.
—
The Experience
One example of this reading comes from an hour on 7/9/21. I was working, and my whole team was silent, and I wasn't about to initiate anything (3.1 often requires to figure out if you're coming or going). With 8.5, it's a "let people engage if they want, or disengage if they want that" situation, and by the end of the hour someone struck up a conversation with me, which may have been the resources returning to me of 3.5. It just so happened that a team member of mine was moving back to Japan, which is relevant to 3.6 and 2.6. 3.6 usually is a matter of something being stripped away, while the two possibilities present with 2.6 could have been about him coming, or going, or my own imminent departure from the company.
The Yang Pattern here is 42, and the Yin Pattern is 32. So, it's a question of an increase, or a gain, and the advice is to stay the course, which is what I did for most of that hour until someone spoke to me.
--
Aquarius Rising/Aquarius Moon
Reading:
Hexagram 19.1.5 > 29
Transitional Reading:
Hexagrams 19.1 > 7.5 > 29
-
1) The Reality
The Three
Danger will cast a shadow, and there may be a time limit here as well. Try to remove your misconceptions, and figure out what's really right for you. Then decide if you'll make the past the present, or if you'll move towards some new kind of future.
The Practical Oracle Adds ...
If you know something is hopeless, you can be the boss here. Get the message across, and then wait.
Will And Won’t And Win
Expect a decision involving delusion.
Don’t expect jealousy to rest.
The reward is an increase in rejection.
2) How You Should Shape It
The Prescription
Let the ingredients come together to see what's what. And that's always going to require waiting.
Your job may be feeling sadness that comes along with inspiration
More And Less
Do more meditating and less damage.
Think "fated" instead of a response.
—
The Experience
The most recent example I have of this reading comes from 5/28/21. As a sentence, this would be "Taking Charge's Repeated Danger." I was pretty certain that a package of mine had been stolen, but 19.1 tells you there may be a time limit, and you may have some misconceptions, which I didn't appreciate at the time. I left work, stopped at a corner store to buy what I thought was stolen (likely the realizing what was right for me of 19.5, and deciding to let go of a sunk cost like 7.5 forces you to decide). The 29 here was definitely about the emotional volatility I felt about something being stolen from me.
The Yin Pattern here, though, is hexagram 50, which is about something cooking in the pot. And things cooking in the pot always require patience. After the weekend, I actually learned my building's leasing office had my package, which I finally ended up getting delivered to me.

Pisces Rising/Pisces Moon
Reading:
Hexagram 61.4 > 10
-
1) The Reality
The Three
Tread carefully, even if that treading is leading you away from some kind of pairing. Only you know where you're going, and why you should go. And if you don't, a future version of yourself does.
The Practical Oracle Adds ...
If you've reconnected, respect the resources at hand. But be the one in charge, and remember that everything is practice.
Will And Won’t And Win
Expect to accept some restraint.
Don’t expect a return to work.
The reward is anger involving some creativity.
2) How You Should Shape It
The Prescription
If you're pursuing something new, don't expect it to be fully formed. That's one thing to keep in mind if you're heading out.
But your job may be feeling the freedom that comes with an escape.
More And Less
Do more meeting, and less being arrogant.
Think what if instead of thinking with an open-mind.
—
The Experience
One example of this reading comes from 7/17/20, when I received a strange email from an employee of a Mexican University that I didn't know at all. After doing research, I saw some photos of this person that made it look like he was a Nazi. I replied back to him that he emailed the wrong person, and I asked what I needed to know about him and got 61.4.
61.4 *is* what happened. There was the two of us, and he ran off, like the horse in the line does, never to be heard from again (hopefully). With this line, you should expect to go off on your own path, disconnected from anyone you asked about at the time of the question.
