It took me a long time to come to my personal understanding (and meanings) for every Hexagram and line of the I Ching.
That "long time" included years full of tens of thousands of readings and journaling about the outcomes of those readings, which gave me my unique interpretations for the Book of Changes.
I know that the majority of the people that find my site are looking for some clarity on what their I Ching reading means for them, so I decided to include my (very brief) interpretation for each of the five most searched for readings that get people to come to Two Dreams.
I'm giving you them in one sentence each, because honestly, that's all you need to know to get a good sense of what the reading will mean in the context of your question.
While I have you here: If you'd like to purchase a reading from me, you can do so here . And for the *really* inquisitive, you can purchase a whole year's worth of readings from me here.
Hexagram 1 Unchanging (1 uc - Potential)
- Khien (represents) what is great and originating, penetrating, advantageous, correct and firm.
My Interpretation From Personal Experience
- A state of busy potential, rather than anything set in stone.
--
Hexagram 15 Unchanging (15 uc - Balance)
James Legge’s Translation
- Khien indicates progress and success. The superior man, (being humble as it implies), will have a (good) issue (to his undertakings).
My Interpretation From Personal Experience
- Make (Making) things balanced instead of excessive, and don't expect any big bangs
--
Hexagrm 37 Unchanging (37 uc - Interdependent Relationships)
James Legge’s Translation
- For (the realisation of what is taught in) Kiâ Zăn, (or for the regulation of the family), what is most advantageous is that the wife be firm and correct.
My Interpretation From Personal Experience
- A limbo state with interdependent relationships that may have an element of a power imbalance
--
Hexagram 32 Unchanging (32 uc - Continuance)
James Legge’s Translation
- Hăng indicates successful progress and no error (in what it denotes). But the advantage will come from being firm and correct; and movement in any direction whatever will be advantageous.
My Interpretation From Personal Experience
- You're sticking to the current plan, course, or commitment, and you'll have a better understanding of the truth as time goes by
--
Hexagram 53.6 (53.6 > 39 - Gradual Development's Obstacle)
James Legge’s Translation
- The sixth NINE, undivided, shows the geese gradually advanced to the large heights (beyond). Their feathers can be used as ornaments. There will be good fortune.
My Interpretation From Personal Experience
- You have assumptions, but there's likely going to be an option Z that makes A and B, or an obstacle irrelevant
