Consider this page a living document, that will get updated sporadically, and randomly.

Its purpose? Simply shining light on people, products, and other nouns that you may find helpful, or enjoyable, that I’ve found helpful, or enjoyable. Not that complicated.

Books

Traditional Magic

'Advanced Magick for Beginners'

*The* book for starting to use practical magic. Simple, yet effective. A classic in the genre.

--

'Precious Apothecary: A Catholic Grimoire'

If you're in the market for some prayers, I'd suggest this book, and specifically their Latin 'Prayer for Peace' and 'Prayer for Divine Aid'.

--

'Sigils of Power and Transformation'

I've used many-a-sigil from this book. Just be careful, because the "expand available time" sigil might leave you waiting on the runway at the end of a vacation as someone gets escorted off the plane.

--

Language Magic

'Speaking Being: Werner Erhard, Martin Heidegger, and a New Possibility of Being Human'

Instead of attending the Landmark Forum, you can read this (often funny) book, and be triggered into a hypomanic state through the written word. The transcript inside this book caused me to have a paradigm shift about the power of language as a form of magic.

--

'Language and the Pursuit of Happiness'

Probably the second book that showed me the power of language as magic. It's about the teachings of ontological coaching, but presented in a very practical way.

Gatekept Publications

In a world where deepfakes and disinformation run amok, I find value in traditional media gatekeepers. Whether it's GQ, the NY Times, or New York Magazine, you may read some publicist-assisted puff pieces, but there's good journalism in those pages as well.

And if you skip social media in favor of a magazine, it allows editors and journalists to be the X-guinea-pigs, being bombarded with new maxxing language, while you get only the finished, polished product.

--

Television

Similar to magazines, TV is a world where the old, seemingly archaic barriers to entry can actually provide a benefit. While I have to wade through infectious AI-produced prescription jingles, I do enjoy the pleasures of watching sports for the entertainment of it all, rather than for betting or psychological masochistic purposes.

I get to hear about how God made three-pointers crash through the nets, but at least I don't have to see thumbnails of surprised aspiring influencers with copywriting-based headlines.

The Physical World

Noctavia Obscure

A Denver-based store where you can buy herbs, petition papers, and books, that cover some of the same topics touched on by this website. If you're in the area, support a small business.

--

Portola Music Festival

After having seen nearly every rapper I have ever wanted to see live (Outside of Outkast), I gravitate more and more towards electronic music, where words are often few. Portola, set in San Francisco in September is an oasis of electronic music, set on a pier, where humidity can do wonders for your hair, and you can meditate as you listen to bass that vibrates your bone marrow.

I do recommend a tether for your iPhone, though, because there *are* people out for your phone at this festival.

Products

Cat Wands

When you want to lovingly, but unfortunately, give your cat microplastics, you can't do better than a generic Cat Wand. Eventually, you may also have a cat whose day is made complete only by food, and getting a neon worm.

Ninja Juicer

Every juicer probably screams like someone exchanging pleasantries with their last breath, but at least this one seems to be durable enough to continue crushing carrots, pound after pound, for months (from my experience at least).
